Wonderful Nurses, Lab and Radiology staff! Friendly folks, clean and the cafeteria has really healthy options. Kudos to Dietary and Housekeeping staff too!
This place is an absolute joke. Went in for chest pains to the er and I was forced to go admissions to check in so they could get their money. Never mind the fact I had chest pains! After sitting for twenty minutes without even being seen by a nurse I was told I didn't have an emergency and got chewed out. If you have a life or death situation I recommend not wasting your time here. No wonder this hospital has the crappy reputation that it does. Worst hospital I've been to in my entire life. They're not caring for life. All the care for is money. They also have a physician that has sexually harassed his female patients and is allowed to continue working there. This place is shameful!!!!!!
I suffered for 5 years from chronic tension migraines due to the complication with a prescribed medication requiring to go to their ER for the entire time. During the entire ordeal, I was never once referred to a specialist or them investigating what the problem could be. Eventually, I had to move to the Fargo area and google on my own and be my own doctor to resolve my health problem. So to recap, Avera took thousands upon thousands of dollars in never really assisting me with my medical problem and only giving me the maximum amount of tordahl shots every month for 5 years to where I'm now immune to that shot. Go here at your own risk!
We are so lucky to have such a great hospital in Pipestone! Dr. Zephier has been wonderful with my 3 kids. He takes time to listen and offers a number of treatment options each time we see him. Dr. B. Harms is very knowledgeable and a great listener. She has become my primary care physician and I feel very confident knowing that she is taking care of me!
