We initially reserved a tipi camping experience. We then switched one night to a cabin rental. The person working the front desk for check -in whom I believe was the owner was very pleasant and very nice. They provided a picnic table and a couple of extra blankets for us. As we started to get settled in our kids noticed there were little ants everywhere. On blankets etc.. We went to get assistance and a gentleman came out right away. He had some powder like ant killer that he sprinkled around the out side of the tipi which is up on a wood base then he also sprinkled it inside the tipi as well. This however did not get rid of the ants. We went back to find him and they were gone. We then stopped by the cabin and the owners children who live in Pipestone were planning on using it that evening but they so kindly offered us to swap our days from having the cabin Saturday night to Friday night. So friendly. When I called to speak with the owner on Monday as she was not available the rest of the weekend she was so rude. We had asked if we could get the tipi reservation fee credited back to us. She said she felt they went above and beyond because her grand-kids were looking forward to being in the cabin Friday night and they gave it up for us which they had not even settled into as of yet they had just gotten there. She also said we could have just slept on the ground. I wonder if she would have had her grand-kids sleep with ants crawling all over them. So we not only were charged for the tipi reservation but we also paid $65 plus tax for the cabin rental on Friday night not even getting into the cabin until almost 11 due to the ant problem. Had the owner been a little more courteous when we called to discuss the tipi reservation fee reversal we may have recommended this establishment but most definitely not now. As we did not even stay there a second night.
We a seasonal campsite. We love it there. Activities for the entire family. The grounds and pool and showers are kept clean. Highly recommended.
Amazing stay. Owners are very family oriented. Lots of space to play, activities, playground, and pool was crystal clear and warm!! Will be back soon.
Great location for the national park. If you like a campground with things for the kids to do, this is the spot. Nice pool, playground, volleyball net, and open field to keep the kiddos busy. The front desk was helpful, I needed a 50 amp to 30 amp converter plug, they loaned me one with a small deposit. Everything was clean and well kept. The lots are very close together, closer than I would like. I would stay here again.
Good Sams park. Reservations needed for weekends, & sites are fairly close to one another. But, quiet, & right across the street from Pipestone National Monument park.
